When we recently spent three weeks in Indonesia with kids, our trip began and ended in Singapore. During our four days in Singapore with kids, we stayed at three different family-friendly hotels in Singapore.
When we first arrived from Canada, we spent our first few nights at a family-friendly hotel in central Singapore. When we returned from Indonesia, we spent another 2 nights at an amazing kid-friendly resort in Sentosa, where you’ll find Universal Studios, the Singapore Aquarium and more. And finally, due an extremely early departure for our flight home, we spent our final night at a family-friendly hotel at the Singapore Changi Airport.
Our family really enjoyed Singapore, it’s now one of our favourite places to travel with kids in Asia. We also enjoyed each of these family-friendly Singapore hotels and wanted to share them with you to help make your family trip to Singapore a success

3 Family-Friendly Hotels in Singapore We Stayed At
lyf Funan Singapore: Best for Central Singapore
For the first two nights of our trip to Singapore with kids, we stayed at lyf Funan Singapore, and it ended up being an excellent choice for our family. We rented a unique and very family-friendly “Two of a Kind” room, which worked especially well with kids.
Our room had a single door from the hallway that led into a shared common area with a small kitchenette. This included dishes, cutlery, a fridge and a stovetop, which made it much easier to have snacks and store our leftovers.

From the common area in our Two of a Kind room, there were separate doors leading to two separate bedrooms. Each bedroom had a queen bed and its own bathroom, giving our family plenty of space and privacy. This setup was such a great option for travelling with kids, especially compared to squeezing everyone into one standard hotel room.

We also loved how fun, young and hip the hotel felt. There were playful decorations throughout the hotel, including chalkboards in each room. Our kids enjoyed the ball pit, and the lobby had bean bag chairs and a relaxed, casual feel. There were also complimentary treats to take with us when we left for the day, which was a nice little touch our kids loved.

There’s also a laundromat in the lobby, which is a great option for keeping everyone’s sweaty clothes nice and clean.
Breakfast was an excellent mix of Asian and Western favourites. Our kids had no issues filling themselves up with pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs and cereal each morning. Celine and I also enjoyed some of the Asian breakfast dishes, including noodles and other savoury options.

The location was another big reason we liked staying here. lyf Funan Singapore has a great central location, about a 15-minute walk to the Merlion and around 30 minutes on foot to the ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay area. We love exploring new cities on foot, so this worked really well for us.

On top of all of this, it was one of the most affordable family-friendly hotels we found in Singapore, which is great if you are travelling with kids on a budget. We highly recommend lyf Funan Singapore for families visiting Singapore with kids, especially if you want extra space, a central location and a hotel that feels fun and practical for families.
Village Hotel Sentosa: Best for a Sentosa Family Stay
The Village Hotel Sentosa was our base for our two days in Sentosa with kids. We chose this family-friendly resort-style Sentosa hotel for a variety of reasons.
First off, the hotel has very family-friendly accommodation choices. We stayed in a Family Room at the Village Hotel Sentosa. The Family Room consists of two adjoining hotel rooms connected by an interior door, which can be closed for privacy. The parents’ room has a king-sized bed, while the kids’ room has two single beds.

Second, Village Hotel Sentosa has an excellent central location on Sentosa. Once we arrived, we could walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. The Sentosa attractions, shops and restaurants we visited were all within an easy 5-15 minute walk, most of which was under covered walkways. There wasn’t a single time we wished we had a car during our stay.

The resort also has an impressive selection of things for kids to do. For example, there are four swimming pools at the Village Hotel Sentosa, including a lazy river and the Pamukkale Pool which overlooks the ocean. In addition, the hotel has a variety of scheduled activities each day.

Finally, the Village Hotel Sentosa was just a few minutes walk from Imbiah Station on the Sentosa Express. This came in handy each morning when we wanted to go to nearby VivoCity for breakfast at Toast Box, and still make it back in time for opening at Adventure Cove Waterpark and the Singapore Oceanarium.
YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport: Best for an Early Flight
After four amazing days in Singapore with kids, we transferred to a hotel at Singapore Changi Airport. Our flight back to Canada departed at 7 AM, requiring us to be at the airport by 4 AM. In our experience traveling as a family, a wake-up call this early deserves an airport hotel.
We found an amazing kid-friendly hotel at the Singapore Changi Airport. We stayed in a “cabin” at the YOTELAIR hotel within the fun, modern Jewel complex. We chose this airport hotel due to its family-friendly accommodations and its very convenient location within the airport complex.

Our Family Cabin at the YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport hotel was small, but functional. It featured a double bed and a bunk bed with an ensuite bathroom and shower.

YOTELAIR is located within the Jewel complex at Changi Airport, which you may know as the home of the Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. It’s also home to an impressive number of restaurants and fun retail shops, like POP MART, Pokémon, etc.

For us, the best part was its location, which is right at Terminal 1 in the Changi Airport. Our flight departed from Terminal 2, which was only a 10 minute walk from YOTELAIR via an elevated, indoor air-conditioned walkway. This allowed us to sleep until the last possible moment before getting up and walking to our check-in counter.
More From Our Singapore and Indonesia Family Trip
Singapore was the starting and ending point for our family trip to Indonesia. As described above, we spent two days in Singapore with our kids on either end of our Indonesia family adventure.
After our first two days in Singapore with kids, we flew to Sumatra and spent five days in Bukit Lawang with kids. There, we trekked through the jungle to see orangutans. This was followed by a trip to Pulau Weh with kids, a little known tropical island with outstanding snorkeling.
We then spent five days in Bali with kids before spending six days living on a river boat in Borneo, where we got to see orangutans every day.
