After an incredible week in Iceland with kids (who were 4 & 2 years old), our visit to Iceland was sadly coming to an end. Given our flight wasn’t until the afternoon, we had time to do one of the best things to do around Reykjavik with kids, and that was visit the world-famous Blue Lagoon.
With all of the amazing natural wonders that Iceland has to offer, it feels like Reykjavik is often an afterthought – a place where people stay when they first arrive or about to leave Iceland.
The Golden Circle in Iceland is an extremely popular day trip from Reykjavik and should be part of your family Iceland vacation. With all the things to do in Iceland’s Golden circle with kids, we decided to spend two days right in the Golden Circle to take advantage of having a car and two kids who like to get up early.
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is a magical place. It packs a little of everything that makes Iceland special into a small, easily driveable space. There are volcanoes, lava fields, mountains, waterfalls, fjords and big waves on rocky cliffs. If you only have a few days in Iceland, this is a good choice as you will see it all.
