Where We Stayed in Chiang Mai With Kids

We visited Chiang Mai on our first family trip to Thailand, when our kids were just 3 & 5 years old. While we could have easily stayed at any one of the amazing family-friendly Chiang Mai hotels above, we decided to stay in a vacation rental.

When we travelled with our young kids, we valued having separate bedrooms, a kitchen and a washer & dryer.

Chiang Mai Temples with Kids

We found a nice two-bedroom apartment just south-east of the Chiang Mai City Walls. It was quiet, had a pool and had a great food market a few minutes away. It was a bit far to walk to Old Town, but it was only a 5 minute Grab ride, so the location wasn’t an issue.

Final Thoughts

Traveling anywhere with kids is a feat in and of itself. Keeping little ones entertained can be exhausting, but the memories are well worth it.

Chiang Mai is a city steeped with culture and tradition, providing an experience like no other that is perfect for families. Don’t forget to dress properly when in the Old City temples in Thailand to show respect for its culture and tradition.
