I admit I was very intimidated about the thought of driving a rental car in the Yucatan Peninsula. On previous trips here, I’ve seen the traffic from the comfort of my air-conditioned bus on the way to my fancy all-inclusive and it always looked a bit crazy. But this time, we weren’t going to a resort and we wanted to explore the area, so we needed to rent a car.

When we decided to rent a condo in Playa Del Carmen for a month, my biggest concern was the drinking water. I knew Celine and I could manage to stay healthy, but what about our 2 & 4 year old kids? Surely they’d open their mouths in the bath or eat a bad taco or something?
