Panama City With Kids

To be honest, we didn’t know much about Panama or Panama City when we first kicked around the idea of coming here. We had previously really enjoyed a family trip to Costa Rica, and a separate trip to Colombia with kids, so given Panama is right in the middle of these two amazing countries, we figured we’d love it too!

It didn’t take us very long to figure out we were going to love visiting Panama City with kids! We’re generally not big into cities, but Panama City is one of the few mega-cities on Earth with a thriving national park right next door.

We had planned our family trip to Panama City in February to coincide with a week-long break from their school. We chose Panama City as our destination in large part because of all the outdoor adventures we could enjoy. As it turns out, our trip to Panama City with kids coincided with their annual carnival celebration.

We love to explore the great cities of Europe on foot. Walking is a wonderful way to experience all that makes a city great, and Budapest is no exception. With these five easy walks in Budapest, you can smell the food, hear the locals chatting in a sidewalk café, enjoy the architecture and the beautiful green spaces.

After the amazing hiking we did on Hvar with kids, we knew we wanted to try more hiking in Croatia. We got the opportunity to do an amazing Korcula hike during our two days in Korcula with kids. In fact, the Korcula to Kocje hike was some of the best hiking on our entire family trip to Croatia!

If your family loves nature, there are few destinations on Earth more magical for a family vacation than Costa Rica. Blessed with an almost unfair amount of natural riches including two coasts, mountains, dense jungles and cloud forests, there is no end to the family adventures you can have in Costa Rica with kids.

Our recent family trip to Playa del Carmen was our first time staying outside of an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. We were excited about a more authentic Mexico trip, but we worried about the quality of the public beaches in Playa del Carmen. I’m happy to report that this concern was unfounded and we enjoyed our time at many of the best public beaches in Playa del Carmen.

Our family loves outdoor adventures, and volcanic islands are the perfect destination for us. After amazing trips to the volcanic islands of Tenerife with kids and La Palma with kids, we were eager to find another volcanic playground to explore. When we were planning our family trip to South Korea, we were super excited to discover they had a magical volcanic island too. It didn’t take long for us to add a 4-day visit to Jeju Island with kids to our South Korea itinerary.

When we first began planning our 12-day Japan family vacation, we had originally planned to split our time equally between Tokyo and Kyoto. As we did more research, we were surprised to learn how incredible the Kyoto hiking is, so we eagerly decided to create a 7-day itinerary for Kyoto with kids.
